It was a much better showing than the game against Pittsburgh.

I do not think anyone is clamoring that he's the best goalie in the world.

"The Kings tweeted out a picture of the boy king, being carried into Staples Center on a litter, a playful dig against Ducks’ rookie goaltender John Gibson, who had been lights out good so far in his brief NHL career. Kings’ coach Darryl Sutter just hates to go along with the hype though, and so let the sarcasm flow the other night when he called Gibson the greatest goaltender ever."

I don't think it's a coincidence that Stoner looked that much better getting away from the unpredictability of Sami Vatanen. I don't think Stoner has been as bad as everyone else seemingly does but covering up for Vatanen's crazy jump ins calls for a special player. This is not a dig at Sami either. He's still a dumb kid, he'll figure it out.

Thanks for the shout out, Ed! I will probably start posting a little more often in the threads.

BTW, sorry for the back and forth with Lucky Luc yesterday. I'll try not to be that annoying anymore.

Prepare to get flamed by tkecanuck341. He hates Stoner and everyone who thinks he is a serviceable defenseman.

First of all...I don't hate anyone. Second, I don't know that you can call my comments "flaming," because that implies that I resort to personal insults rather than discussing the merits of an argument, which is not true. Third, I've repeatedly said that Stoner would be a fine 6th defenseman on a low/middle-tier team, but if you want a championship worthy defense (i.e. better than everyone else), he's your weak link and should be replaced. However, I think that horse has been beaten to death, so I have nothing else to say on the subject. Good day.

And yet the Kings won 2 Cups with Robyn Regehr and Matt Greene. You need mobility and physicality on defense to win in the West. The Kings have a great mix, the Ducks don't.

And the Ducks assumed the Blues would just roll over tonight. Jake Allen was good when he had to be, mainly with about 10 minutes left in the third. Good win Blues.

Yeah, watched enough Ducks games to know that us winning had as much to do with the Ducks having an off night as it did anything else. I'm just glad it was Blues who benefited.

But why did they have an off night? Might be the Blues played a solid game. They also frustrated the heck out of Getzlaf and Perry. You could see Perry get frustrated towards the end.

Absolutely, full credit to the Blues. They made the Ducks work to get to the front of the net and the Ducks didn't want to do it. Meant to post this earlier but the Steen line was the best line on the ice last night. Lots of chemistry building there.

We told you guys that when the trade was made. Bonino was a HUGE part of the Ducks the last few years. He's not your prototypical 2nd or 3rd center, but he chips in with some huge points. If you guys make the playoffs, he'll be a secret weapon for you. I'm just glad we have Kesler to match up with Kopitar or Carter. That's why we got him.

This. Most if not all Ducks fans were not happy trading Bones. He does a lot of the little things that make teams successful. He's also a near certainty during the shoot out. The way I look at it the Ducks had to give you Bonino in order to get rid of Sbisa.
